У КОГО (№2) ЕСТЬ ЧТО (№1)

\\\\\\\

If we need to express the idea of possession (somebody has something), normally we don’t use the verb “to have” (иметь) but denote it with a very special Russian model “у кого (№2) есть что (№1)” where Subject takes the form of Genitive case (падеж №2) and Object of possession is in Nominative (падеж №1). The word in the middle is an ancient Present tense form of the verb “быть” (to be): “is” in Engl., “es” in Spanish, “est” in French, “есть” in Russian.
